In March 1972, my mother, Virginia Oyibo Nwakanma (AKA Achara Ugo), unexpectedly lost her husband to cardiac arrest. Like many women in similar situations, she realized that the responsibility of raising her seven children now fell on her shoulders alone. Prior to her husband's death, she had been a school teacher, but later transitioned to self-employment to have more time to care for her young children.

The sudden loss of my father (Mazi Joseph Ezuma Nwakanma) destabilized my mother, and she had to take on the financial responsibilities that her husband had previously handled. Despite this, she persevered and single-handedly raised all seven of her children to the academic level of their choosing.

Through her unwavering commitment to her family and her determination to ensure that We all had a good life, my mother instilled in me a deep appreciation for widows. After her passing in 2003, my passion for supporting widows only grew stronger.

In 2010, I began collaborating with Cornerstone Foundation, a widow support NGO in Nigeria, to assist widows and their families. To date, We have supported and empowered over 100 widows and counting.

About the founder Mrs Ezinne Daniel

Ezinne Daniel, a Nigerian-born, obtained her Higher National Diploma in Office Management. She did her National Youth Service Corp with National Shell Petroleum Company, after which she pursued & received her Master's degree in Banking and Finance at Delta State University, Delta State, Nigeria. Ezinne worked with Pacific Merchant Bank Plc for nine years before migrating to the United States of America. While in America, she worked with Digene Diagnostic Company as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Vice President, during which she obtained a Master's degree in Public Health Administration (MPH).

Knowledge and experience in administration/management of public affairs.

Ezinne is thoroughly knowledgeable in the principles, practices, problems, and objectives of public/community welfare and resources, which can be applied in delivering programs that will benefit the community she serves.

She is a role model to her staff, colleagues, and other multi-disciplinary professionals she comes in contact with during her work. She is a rational, clear thinker who makes decisions based on what is best for her organization and the benefits such a decision is intended to bring. She very much tries to lead by example.

She has good communication skills and can communicate effectively and appropriately with people at all levels. She knows that communication is a two-way process involving speaking and listening. To this end, she ensures that she listens when she is being spoken to and never interrupts the speaker. She also encourages constructive criticism as that aids learning which is a continuous process.

Ezinne Daniel is self-motivated and consistently strives to perform at the highest level. She excels under pressure and can work to tight deadlines to achieve desired results. She can meet targets independently and work as part of a team to meet the team's and organization's objectives.

She is an outstanding time manager who always works flexibly to accommodate the organization's demands. She has an extensive track record of delivering projects on time and ensures that she is always on time for work and meetings. She can respond quickly, sensitively, appropriately & positively to the cultural context of the climate in which she operates.

Ezinne Daniel is a globally-minded, purpose-driven business leader. She is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Safehands Training & Childcare Staffing Agency. She is also a real estate investor. She was a pioneer Vice president of the Asaba Girls Grammar School Worldwide Association and was later voted president. During her tenor, she raised a substantial amount which was used to renovate the school and reconstruct their science laboratory
